As apart of my continuing journey in Weight Loss, I have joined a challenge that is related to the one thing that I love more than anything else. THE LORD OF THE RINGS!The Challenge is called The Éowyn Challenge, a group of women who have found strength and courage and inspiration in the character of Éowyn from the Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien. A part of that challenge is The Walk to Rivendell, those that wish may follow the path of Frodo and his companions to Rivendell and beyond.
I have joined the challenge and reached Rivendell on September 8, 2003. After a short stay, I continued on with the Fellowship through Moria, to Lothlórien. There I started down the Anduin, but my boat seemed to get caught in these horrendous whirlpools and it took me awhile to get out of them. Eventualy I made it to the Emyn Muil and am now on my way to Mt. Doom.
Location check: 1540 miles from Bag End. Mile 177 from Rauros to Mt. Doom 177/470.
"Walk SW, west of the road. Road runs in a trenchlike valley between the mountains and the moors. It is newly repaired for many miles. End of the slag heaps. Brief rest. Midnight: Moon rises, almost full.”It's quite a journey, but this challenge and the wonderful people that I have met with it have brought a lot of joy to my life. It has made moving that much more fun, and given me something to work for that is tied deeply to something I love and cherish.
